In this session we go beyond the beginners session to look at best practices for using Google Apps based on the most successful Google Apps schools I have been involved with.

This sessions is suitable for both school IT managers/staff and school administrators. Generally this is a small group so much of the session will be taken up with an informal Q and A format where attendees can bring their questions and we can discuss solutions that will work for your school. We look at topics such as:

User administration: Good practice for suspending/deleting accounts and Google Docs when people leave. Giving some staff members access to perform limited admin tasks such as resetting passwords.
integrating Google Apps with external systems such as ActiveDirectory so that when new students are added their gmail account is created automatically
Using ‘resource calendars’ to centrally manage all your booking of resources across the school (everything from computer carts to rooms)
Managing Google+ across your school How to enable Google Plus for some and turn off for others
Filtering and blocking of student email. We look at real world examples
LMS options with Google Apps. Best practices for starting the journey to use Google Apps as an LMS for your school, options from the Google Apps Marketplace and Moodle integration
